What do you mean by 'mission'?

The word ‘mission’ or ‘missions’ will mean different things to different churches – even different things to Christians within the same church. In terms of this website, ‘mission’ is used to describe those activities that enable the expansion of the church of Jesus Christ, cross-culturally and globally.

What is Mission Possible?

Mission Possible is a grassroots, interdenominational fellowship of Central Coast Christians who have a passion to see Christ’s name proclaimed and glorified through loving and effective witness, locally, regionally and globally (Acts 1:8).

The Mission Possible Organising Team (MPT) was formed to develop and administer regional resources such as missionpossible.com.au and ‘non-profit’ missions events such as the OneWorld Expo & Youth Concert. MPT members belong to different Central Coast churches and denominations.

Why Mission Possible?

More than 2,000 years ago, Jesus Christ proclaimed, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” (Luke 10:2 NIV). This invitation is just as relevant today and Central Coast churches have an integral role to play in informing, encouraging and equipping Christians to play strong and effective roles in the Great Commission.

The core business of Mission Possible is to support and serve the local church as it performs these key tasks.

Why have a regional missions website?

missionpossible.com.au is a communication resource created for the benefit of Central Coast churches, mission teams, committees and mission minded individuals. If you have a heart for Jesus Christ and His mission to the nations; if you want to find out more about cross-cultural missions or to know how to play your part in the Great Commission; if you want to learn what missions events will be held on or near the Central Coast; if you want to know what missions courses and short-term trips are planned or what mission and aid agencies can offer your church, then missionpossible.com.au has something for you!

Is missionpossible.com.au a regional resource?

The Central Coast is the 3rd largest urban region in NSW. Loosely, this area spans the northern limits of Sydney to the southern limits of Newcastle and west to Wisemans Ferry. Mission Possible serves churches within this catchment area.

Who can post information on the missionpossible website?

missionpossible.com.au creates opportunities for Central Coast churches to network, share mission resources and support one another; and for Missions Interlink agencies to communicate with Central Coast churches via several bulletin boards. The pages highlight upcoming inter-church events, missions courses, visiting guest speakers and short-term mission/awareness trips; information and resources for youth, over 40’s and local prayer teams. The ‘positions vacant’ page allows agencies to advertise positions for missionaries (national / international) and support volunteers (local / regional). See our Privacy Policy.

Website contributors are required to adhere to the Mission Possible Contributors policy.

What are Mission Possible’s values and beliefs?

What Mission Possible isn’t

Mission Possible isn’t a business. MPT volunteers do not draw financial benefit from any aspect of this ministry or from any church, agency, organisation or other interest.

Mission Possible doesn’t intend to replace the work of local churches and denominations in the area of mission. To the contrary, MPT’s strong desire is to encourage Christians to become passionate supporters of mission based goals and initiatives within their own church. Central Coast churches and denominations have a vital role to play in developing their own mission programs, education, recruitment and support. We heartily encourage each church and denomination to continue with this important task.

Mission Possible does not support or promote any church, denomination, mission agency or aid agency above others. See our Disclaimer.

What churches and organisations support Mission Possible?

The Mission Possible website and One World events are activities of Missions Interlink. MI is the peak body representing cross-cultural and global mission organisations in Australia. It has more than 130 members including every mainstream Australian Mission and Aid Agency.

Mission Possible and One World are supported by many Central Coast Churches. Our local ministry has also been generously supported (in-kind) by the following Christian professionals and organisations (acknowledgements).

If you or your church want to know more about Mission Possible or One World events and would like to support, pray for or contribute to this regional missions ministry, please feel free to contact us.
